AT&T Wireless Grant-AT&T Announces $1.5 MM Wireless Grant. Proposals are due Oct. 19. The AT&T Foundation has launched a $1.5 million competitive grant program aimed at integrating wireless communications technologies into educational outreach programs.
The Toshiba America Foundation: this week announced new grant opportunities for K-12 schools in the area of science and math, part of $500,000 in grants the foundation awards to schools each year. The latest program, Science and Math Improvement Grant, will award up to $5,000 per applicant.
The Science and Math Improvement Grant awards schools for "programs and activities that improve teaching and learning in science and mathematics" in K-12 education. K-6 teachers can receive $1,000 mini-grants for math and science projects. Teachers of grades 7 through 12 can receive grants of up to $5,000. The deadline for K-6 grant applications is Oct. 1. Teachers of grades 7 through 12 can apply at any time during the calendar year. Teachers can also apply for grants larger than $5,000. Such applications will be reviewed twice per year: Feb. 1 and Aug. 1.

Toyota Moves Science Education Forward with $550,000 In Grants
Toyota TAPESTRY, the nation’s largest science teacher grant program of its kind, awarded nearly $550,000 in grants to 76 K-12 U.S. teachers who submitted creative science project proposals. Fifty awardees received up to $10,000 each and 26 received minigrants of up to $2,500 each. Large grant winners accepted their awards at the NSTA National Conference on Science Education this month.
